Friday, March 10th Winchester & Berryville, VA – WV Folklife Apprenticeship participant Joe Herrmann of Hampshire County performed with The Critton Hollow String Band
Feb 25, 2023 – 2022-2023 WV Folklife Apprenticeship participant James Froemel performed storytelling at the Appalachian Voices event supported by Friends of Deckers Creek. James has been apprenticing Bil Lepp to learn traditional Appalachian storytelling.
February 2023 – The West Virginia International Film Festival screened the first and second installments of Doris Fields’s Those Who Came Before, an ongoing documentary project recording Black music history in West Virginia. This project is supported by Central Appalachia Living Traditions of Mid Atlantic Arts.
Monday, February 13th – 4pm South Charleston Public Library 2022-2023 WV Folklife Apprenticeship pair Bil Lepp and James Froemel gave a storytelling presentation at for the library patrons. Free event.
Friday, February 3rd – 6pm 202 Park Ave. Beckley, WV 25801. 2022-2023 WV Folklife Apprenticeship pair Xavier Oglesby and his niece Brooklynn Oglesby prepared traditional soul food and hosted a card party at the Women’s Club in Beckley.
